Peas -n- Carrots

Hello and welcome!

We created this site out of love for kids. We are strong believers in the potential that each child has and we are impressed by how much this potential is left undiscovered. Research has shown that the first 12 years of a child’s life are the most important for its mental, emotional and social development as an adult.

Children are naturally curious, imaginative and creative, yet they do not always have a safe place to go to show their creativity in a completely positive way. Story Soup Kids is a website designed to help encourage children to use their imaginations, be more creative, and to feel confident in their abilities. What better way then through books, story writing, cooking and crafts? All of which you will find on the site. Children are also able to submit their own stories, build upon a story outline, and participate in many other activities geared towards building upon their natural abilities.

Most of the time the blame goes primarily to our hectic lifestyle where by trying to succeed in our careers we sacrifice quality time with our kids. We all know how hard and challenging this can be …. But don’t despair, there is hope ! With a little planning and effort we can help our children develop their natural abilities for a rewarding adult life without sacrificing our own success. And of course let’s not forget their fun. These are memories that will stay with them for a lifetime.

Sometimes a little organization and time management is all it takes. You will be surprised to realize how much extra time can be “squeezed” out of a full day. And if you want some hints, Barbara Myers a renowned organizational expert suggested the following site for some hints on how to cut down the clutter, organize their closets, reduce the scheduling horror and so much more.

There are many aspects in the development of a child and each is quite complex and a subject that we may write countless articles about. But we need to keep things simple, and to the point, without overwhelming ourselves with the details.

Browsing over the various articles we hope to help our readers apply the game , crafts and stories that are all over the site to a good use! Remember it’s not enough to just read a story to your child to help them fall asleep. Although an immensely bonding and rewarding experience that helps their imagination run wild it would be a pity to just leave it at that…. Ask them what they think and make them realize that every story has a moral message that can be expanded to various situations that we face every day of our lives.

We try to do our best to cover as many aspects of a child’s life as possible but we are sure we may miss some. If there are any subjects you would like to bring to our attention or even to contribute your own material contact us. We would be very happy to hear from you, learn, and help others learn from your ideas and experiences.

We are very excited to continue to build upon Story Soup Kids making it a great place for children, both those who home school and those who attend public or private schools, to be creative. So have the kids stop on by and mix up their own great adventure! We would be glad for the company.

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.   ~Leo Buscaglia
